Media Tour Trends for 2023

The year is coming to an end, so it’s time to start looking at media tour trends for 2023.

Part of the beauty of the new year is having a fresh start and trying out new ideas to make your business or product stand-out against the competition. Here are some tours to keep in mind:

Location Tours

Shopping malls, overseas resorts, even private islands — KEF Media produced Satellite Media Tours (SMTs) from all of those locations.. You have the ability to transport viewers to another place during an on-location SMT.

Producing live tours outside or in unique locations adds excitement, and it’s not just for the viewer. From our experience, we’ve also noticed that talent and spokespeople tend to feed off the energy of on-location tours. For some media tours, it’s worth breaking out of the four walls of the studios and expanding the audience’s vantage point.

VMTs (Virtual Media Tour)

VMTs became a very popular option during the pandemic and are still a good option in 2023 because of the flexibility it offers.

You can think of a Virtual Media Tour as a “Satellite Media Tour in a box.” The biggest difference is VMTs can be conducted via Zoom or Skype, creating more flexibility than Satellite Media Tours (SMT). The tour still consists of interviews in rapid succession with media entities across the United States.

Split-format tours

A Split-format Tour is a combination between a Satellite Media Tour (either remote or in-studio) and a Virtual Media Tour. You can have two spokespeople in different locations across the country, send the signal back to a single studio, and it goes out to TV stations across the country. Again, great flexibility.

Standard SMTs

Satellite Media Tours took a backseat during the pandemic, but they’re picking back up again in full force. SMTs are a great way to amplify your client’s message. A series of back-to-back interviews in a single day will rapidly share your content with audiences across the country. It can happen from a studio or remote location over the course of a few hours.
