“A photographer and I spend a week in Savannah working with SCAD and their agency partners,” Adriana Wells, VP of Client Services at KEF Media, said. “We handle red carpets as the house crew for the entire festival. On top of that, we serve as representatives for media outlets. For example, if Variety or Entertainment Tonight aren’t able to send a representative directly to the festival, they’re able to send us their questions and get all of their content for them, package it up nicely, and send it back to them. That way they are able to cover the festival as if they were there.”
The SCAD TVFest, another festival which is typically held in February, highlights the best content airing today. SCAD TVfest is held in the production hub of Atlanta and offers multiple opportunities to networks and learn about the latest trends and innovation across all aspects of the broadcast industry. There are also master classes held for students.
KEF Media spends three days on the red carpet, interviewing celebrities who are there to promote their shows and their programs. Like the film festival, we are the house crew and also send interviews to media outlets who can’t be there to cover the event.
“People think that doing a film festival or a television festival, that’s it’s all glamor and you’re meeting celebrities, which it is. But it’s a lot of work and I think it’s very specialized work,” added Wells. “I don’t think it’s something that the average agency and the average video agency does. There is a really big cram session to get information and make sure you’re asking educated questions, so your client is able to get the most return on their investment.”
Running the red carpet at TV and film festivals is a juggle, and it’s a juggle that KEF Media is proud to handle. Are you a media outlet interested in content from the SCAD Film Festival or TVFest? Don’t hesitate to contact us ahead of the festivals. We are happy to use our expertise to gather the best content for you.
